Nudging to increase feedback compliance

Intervention Description

An Australian government program designed to assist small business owners was receiving less feedback than desired. To increase compliance with requests for feedback, researches sent participants e-mails to remind them of the request. These e-mails used behavioral techniques to increase the likelihood that the recipient would comply. One method used was to describe the specific steps needed to provide feedback so that the cognitive effort of compliance was lower. Another method was to remind participants of the deadline, which has proven effective in other scenarios. Results are still pending.
